CSG FAQ

Q: How do I get my photo into the department photo database so it shows up in web pages and xfaces?

The department maintains a database of photos that are used for various purposes. For example, these photos are used for the auto-generated web pages that list members of the department. In order to have your photo included in this database, simply copy an image file into /l/fotos/incoming. Images copied to this directory will be processed by the systems staff and should be included within one business day. This image file can be in any common image format (such as gif or jpg).

There is also a separate picons database of photos. When you submit your photo to the department photo database, it will also be included in the picons database unless you explicitly ask to be excluded. For more information about this database, please see the Picons FAQ.
