Q: How do I use a webcam to create movies and still images?

There is a Creative WebCam Live! Pro web cam in LH428 attached to the PC named blindcat that can be used by CS faculty, staff, and students.

Creating a DVD Movie using the webcam:

  1. Start DVD Builder.
  2. On the bottom right of the DVD Builder screen, use the Select Device dropdown box to select Creative WebCam Live! Pro as the source.
  3. Click on the Start Capture button to begin recording the video.
  4. When you are done, click on Stop Capture.
  5. Edit your video clip using the Edit option on the toolbar.
  6. When your project is complete, click on the red circle at the bottom right of the DVD Builder screen.

Importing a still image:

  1. Start DVD Builder.
  2. In the DVD Builder toolbar, click on Import, and Still Image Capture.
  3. Select the Creative WebCam Live! Pro web cam as the device.
  4. Click Aquire Still Images.
  5. Click on Snap Image to create a single picture.
  6. Click Exit and the single image will be included with your DVD Builder project or you can click Transfer Now to save the image to a folder.
