All of the CS printers are available to Windows like any normal network printer using Samba/SMB. Before you will be able to print using SMB you will need to set up SMB access. Just follow the steps for SMB access in the corresponding FAQ before you continue with the configuration of printers.

Once you have configured SMB access, select Start->Printers->Add a Printer and select the "network printer" option. Select "Connect to this printer" and for the "Name:" enter "\\samba1.cs.indiana.edu\printername" where printername is the name of the printer. You can see the printers section of the hardware database or run "man printers" on any of the CS Linux machines to get a complete list of printers. For example, you can use "\\samba1.cs.indiana.edu\ps14" to print to ps14 or "\\samba1.cs.indiana.edu\psburrow" to print to psburrow. You will then be prompted to enter the make and model of the printer, which is also available using the printers section of the hardware database or by running "man printers". If you have a choice for a particular printer, select the PS or PostScript version of the printer. When prompted for the "Printer Name" you can can set this to be any name you prefer, but we recommend that you set it to be the same as the printer name (such as ps14).

It is important to note that your notebook computer must authenticate with the samba server (samba1.cs.indiana.edu) in order for you to be able to print. The easiest way to accomplish this is to access your CS home directory using Samba/SMB per the corresponding FAQ before you attempt to print.
