CSG FAQ

Q: Is there a quota on my printing?

UITS is enforcing print quotas on all of their printers, including the UITS-owned printers in the Student Technology Centers located in Lindley Hall, and you will be charged for each page you go over your quota. However, the Computer Science Department is currently not enforcing print quotas for printing on CS-owned printers but this does not give you free reign to print as much as you like. We are doing printer accounting which gives us reports of each user's printer usage. If your printer usage is excessive, you will probably get a note asking you to please try and limit printing, if possible. Just keep in mind that each page you print costs the department almost 3 cents. While this may not seem like much, you may be surprised to learn that we print about 60,000 pages a month which adds up to almost $2000 a month! Please do your part to keep this cost down.
