CSG FAQ

Q: What is the Computer Science Department Certificate Authority?

There are various authenticated services (email, web pages, etc) hosted within the CS Department (under a variety of domain names including, but not limited to, cs.indiana.edu, osl.iu.edu, extreme.indiana.edu, and boost.org) that use the Computer Science Department Certificate Authority. What this means is that we do not pay a third-party verification service to confirm that the certificate being used is valid. As a result, your web browser or mail program may inform you that the certificate could not be verified and ask you if you want to accept it.

You may choose to import the certificate for the CS certificate authority:

Certificate: Computer Science Department Certificate Authority
SHA1 Fingerprint: 69:AA:8A:55:F0:BF:EB:D9:6C:D0:BF:5A:0F:74:D7:CE:B3:F6:C8:8F
MD5 Fingerprint: 2A:C2:43:C9:1E:1E:CA:8D:58:20:F3:9E:07:FF:7F:D8
