August 2006 - New home directory file server is now available

The CS department has a new file server on-line for faculty, student, and staff home directories. The new file server offers a larger disk quota and also gives a unified home directory across all CS accounts. You will no longer have a separate Burrow and Sharkestra home directory, for example.

Beginning in August 2006, all new accounts are automatically being created on this new file server. Contact the CSG if your home directory is not on this new server and you would like to have it moved. We will need about a 1 hour window when you will not be logged into any CS, Extreme, or OSL system in order to make the move.

Note that if you currently have separate Burrow and Sharkestra home directories your new home directory after the move on both systems will be your current Sharkestra home directory. Your burrow home directory will be placed into a subdirectory named OldBurrowHome.
