Network Outage and Cutover to 10Gig Uplink

On Thursday, October 6th, 2005, the CS Lindley Hall network will be migrating to a new router. This will result in a short network outage sometime between 6am and 7am that is expected to last about a minute.

This represents a significant change in the network architecture for the department but should be largely transparent to most users. The most significant benefits of this change are an upgrade of the uplink speed to the UITS network from 1 Gb/s to 10 Gb/s and better support for multicast.
