IU Computer Science Department Affiliate Account Policy

This policy regulates computing accounts on the Computer Science Department systems for non-CS affiliates. In order to be in compliance with IU policy, the procedure for account sponsorship depends on the affiliates relationship to IU.

Faculty, Students, and Staff of Indiana University

Non-CS faculty, students, and staff of Indiana University may get CS computing accounts with sponsorship of a member of the CS faculty. The account request must be submitted to accounts-admin by the sponsoring member of the CS faculty and must include the person's name and IU username.

Non-IU Personnel

Affilate accounts for anyone who is not a member of the IU faculty, staff, or student body are regulated by the Indiana University policy on Sponsored Computing Accounts For IU Affiliates. Eligibility for these affiliate accounts is defined by the IU Policy on Eligibility to Use Indiana University Information Technology Resources. CS Department policy requires sponsorship by an active member of the CS faculty and registration as an affiliate through the IU Account Management Service. Once the IU affiliate account is created, the sponsoring faculty member will need to request the CS account by sending email to accounts-admin. It is the responsibility of the sponsoring faculty member to ensure that the affiliate meets the eligibility requirements.

If you want to create an IU affiliate account, please see the FAQ entry How do I sponsor an account for a non-IU affiliate? for more information.
