Technical Report TR663:
Review of the Hough Transform Method, With an Implementation of the Fast Hough Variant for Line Detection

Danko Antolovic
Unknown Date, 11 pages
[This report pertains to Auto-Digitizer, an open-source software package for machine vision and image processing, available to Indiana University.]
Abstract:
This report explains the basic principles of the Hough Transform method for detection of geometric shapes, and reviews some of its variants and generalizations. The report further describes an implementation of the Fast Hough variant of the transform, for the detection of lines and circles in the framework of an image-processing application. Considerations of speed and efficiency of the Fast Hough algorithms are discussed in detail, with a view toward an ASIC implementation.
