HobbiesIn my spare time, I enjoy running and pleasure reading. I typically run about four miles a few times a week. Dan Brown has written several interesting books (Deception Point and The Da Vinci Code were both great). David Baldacci's Simple Genius was excellent; any book that inspires my mother to ask me about cryptography or whether P == NP is truly amazing. Terry Goodkind and Robert Jordan write some good novels (particularly The Sword of Truth and the Wheel of Time series, respectively). I also enjoyed The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. PoliticsI follow national and state politics. While both major political parties have their shortcomings, I believe we have a responsibility to see what they're up to and hold them accountable when necessary. Andrew Tanenbaum has an excellent Web site on election polling and analysis, which is particularly interesting during presidential election years. Professional PropagandaI have created a page that lists a number of tools that I have felt useful during my Computer Science education. I also recently installed SuSE Linux 10.0 on a Dell Latitude D500. I have posted some information about my experience to help out others.
