Lab Notes Ten: Making Up Practical One
Here are some problems you should solve for the make-up:
- You throw 10 coins.
What's the chance of getting between 5 and 7 heads?
- You throw 6 dice.
What's the chance of getting 18 as the sum of the faces on the dice?
- You throw 10 coins.
What's the chance of getting exactly 8 heads?
- You throw 6 dice.
What's the chance of getting between 8 and 10 as the sum of the faces?
In all these instances you need to
- Obtain a number (your best estimate) and report it.
- Turn in a printed screen shot with your comments on the back.
You will be judged on both accuracy of estimate and
clarity of your (brief) report.
