First Summer 2008

Lecture Ten: Review of sequences (strings, tuples, lists).
We discuss strings, tuples and lists.

We also discuss the basics of while and for loops.

A basic definition of a function (method, procedure, subroutine) will also be provided.

The lecture notes for tomorrow provide links to all the programs in the book thus far.

Here's the start of our discussion on sequences:

After strings and tuples we discuss lists.

Lists are more flexible.

Nested structures are possible but also more complex.

Lists have useful methods.

The meaning of the methods must be clear, to avoid surprises.
