Most girls decide against an engineering career long before college. Many never consider it because it seems like a "guy thing." Others are never exposed to genuine self-directed, open-ended problem solving. For still others, interest might be kindled in a particular class, only to fade because there is nothing to follow it up. At Holton-Arms we are working to ensure that every girl has a significant experience with computer-based engineering every year and in the broadest range of classes. The goal is to guarantee that any girl who might have an interest in engineering discovers it and that any girl who does have such an interest is prepared to succeed in college.
