Conclusion

We have presented a new technique for representing probabilistic knowledge in the temporal domain. The technique, temporal Bayesian networks, is firmly based on the probabilistic theory of Bayesian networks. A simple model is presented as well as a transformation into a linear constraint system formulations. The concept of the temporal random variable and the temporal causal relation hold great promise for modeling complex temporal situations such as recurring or periodic events.
