A system for Querying the Text Track in Movies

Abstract:

A system for implementing the script track in a movie (or in general, the annotation track in any multimedia database) is presented. The script track, unlike the frame tracks in the movies, has a very interesting structure and various types of queries can be implemented using the text track, utilizing the structured nature of the track. To retain the complex nature of the structured text, the text track (which we would use synonymously with ``script track'' in this document) is implemented as a complex track, in which atoms can be either be simple text or can be another complex track. Details of the implementation will be discussed later.
