Welcome! My name is Dmitri Gusev. I am an image processing scientist at Kodak's Graphic Communications Group and an adjunct assistant professor of Computer Science at SUNY Brockport. Soon after receiving my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1999, I joined NexPress Solutions, then a joint venture of Kodak and Heidelberg. NexPress was acquired by Kodak in 2004. My main fields of research are computer graphics (namely, digital halftoning), image processing (color management, image compression), visualization (in GIS), and image quality (color fidelity). In 1993, I graduated from Moscow Institute of Radioengineering, Electronics, and Automation and then worked for Cognitive Technologies Ltd., the Moscow branch of Cognitive Technology Corporation (now Cognitive Enterprises), doing commercial programming and algorithm design related to optical character recognition (OCR). In 1996, I received a M.S. degree in Computer Science from Indiana University, Bloomington. As a visiting lecturer, I taught Computer Science at Indiana University South Bend for two semesters in 1998-1999. |
