Design of a Tapered Wing

Airplane propellors are tapered towards the tip. So are
some maple seeds. This design used the knowledge about
weight distribution to make a longer, tapered model.

The model rotated more slowly than the standard origami
model, but fell as fast or faster. This contradicts the
hypothesis drawn from the experiments varying wing size,
which is that a model with lower wing loading due to a
larger area, that rotates more slowly, will fall more
slowly, too.

What other factors could be involved? What hypotheses
might you make? How would you test them?
