Subject: Price List Revised: 8/4/94 1/6/95 The printed cicuit boards for the headlamp voltage regulators are "in stock", I have parts for kits and I have assembled and tested units. If you have a good thin point soldering iron and a little soldering experience, the kit should be no problem. If in doubt or lazy, I suggest a A&T unit. Prices are as follows: Schematic and Documentation Free Email willie@cs.indiana.edu Bare printed circuit board $10 Kit: PCB plus parts $20 Assembled and Tested $30 Assembled and Tested Zoom module $40 "Low power" alkaline battery option add $5 to the Kit (thus $25) or A&T (thus $35) price. The Zoom module comes only with "low power" option (thus the $40 include the $5 extra option). This price also includes shipping via US mail. Let me also explain that the kit will include all the parts for the PCB but not any external stuff like wiring, power switch, box, battery holder, etc. Since this regulator can be used with many types of batteries and bulbs, it is up to the user to select the battery and bulb combination that suits his needs. There are many possible battery and bulb combination that will work well. If you have questions about it, please Email me. If you are using alkaline batteries then you need the "low power" option as it comes with 2 low ESR 4700uF caps that are needed. If you are using low power bulbs (IE < 1 watt) you my want the "low power" option as it will significantly increase battery life because it also comes with CMOS 555's. Also, if you want to put the regulator in a Petzl Zoom headlamp tell me and I will include 2 smaller 1000uF caps instead of the 4700uF's. These are plently large enough for the Petzl lamps and will fit inside the battery compartment. The Assembled and Tested unit is ready to hook up and use. It is fully adjusted and tested. The only change you may need to do is unplug the standard 200K for R11 (5.2v volt bulb) and plug in a different value. The Kit and A&T units are shipped with various values for R11 (2.3v, 3.75v, 4.8v, 5.2v) so you can choose which one you want. For Zoom users, you can opt for the Zoom module which includes the Assembled and Tested board connected to the 1000 uF's and connectors for 2 9 Volts battery and the headlamp, so all you do is drop it in and use it. The system is not designed for 12 volt use but it can be modified to work for one. Again, Email and I will send the pertinent info. If you have not looked at the documentation, please Email me and I will send a copy. Finally, to order send a check or money order to: Willie Hunt 1600 Maplecrest Bloomington IN 47408-1253 I will send stuff COD, but you will pay for the COD charges. Also any order will include assembly instructions including a PCB parts placement diagram, a revised schematic (showing the part values provided in the kit or A&T unit) and other assembly and wiring details.
