An imaging station is available during office hours to those with Sharkestra (whale) accounts. Blindcat is a Sun located in LH428 outfitted with a video frame capture board and camera and a color scanner. If you haven't had your departmental photo taken yet, you're encouraged to do so at your convenience. Instructions for using the imaging station are provided below. These same instructions are posted near blindcat. WHERE THE IMAGES ARE Existing departmental photos are available in: /l/fotos/gif/USER.gif GIF format or /l/www/foto/USER.gif /l/fotos/xbm/USER XBM format Tiny versions of these photos have also been installed in the faces databases so they'll show up when using faces(1), exmh(1) and our WWW-Finger gateway. WHAT THE IMAGES WILL BE USED FOR We plan to use the departmental photos in a departmental personnel directory available through the Web. If you wish to keep access to your images restricted for intra-departmental purposes only, drop a note to fotos-admin@cs.indiana.edu to that effect. HOW TO SUBMIT AN IMAGE TO THE DEPARTMENTAL PHOTOS You can place a copy of an image file of yourself in /l/fotos/incoming to submit it for further processing and installation in the departmental photos collection. This image file may be one you already have from elsewhere, or one taken with blindcat's camera, or one scanned in from a paper photograph on blindcat's scanner.
