HtX - MMCC Home Page

• A beta version of HtX 1.1 and the frames style is now available to MMCC authors.
  To install over an existing HtX 1.0 installation:
  1. Download one of the following executables
     • htx.sparc.gz (for Sun/Sparc)
     • htx.exe.gz (for Wintel 95/NT)
     Unzip and install (as htx or htx.exe) over your current HtX executable.
  2. Download the following two style files:
     • htrc.htx
     • fmmccx.sth
     Add these to your inputs directory.
  You can upgrade any existing mmcc style document by replacing \documentstyle{mmcc} with \documentstyle{fmmccx}.

  Save this file to mmcc.sth, and place in your inputs directory. Alternatively, a copy of this file may reside in the current directory when you process a source file.

  Local configuration notes:
  • Base parameter has been set to null. This seems to work OK. You can set the base directory in your individual documents if necessary.
  • Icon directory has been set to the MMCC home icon directory. You should either leave this or set it to a mirror of this directory on your home system. The command \locicondir can be used for local graphics directories. Set this with \setlocicondir in mmcc.sth and override in individual documents.
  • The applet directory points to the IU MMCC home applet directory. Because of a security "feature" in Java, you cannot yet use this applet unless you either serve your document from www.cs.indiana.edu, or copy the Mcquest subdirectory (and all its subdirectories) to an applet directory on your own server and point to that applet directory.
  • The lib directory refers to the directory containing vocabulary library files. This is set to the document directory, but can be overridden in the individual document.

  If you installed your own version of HtX you will need this file. Install in your inputs directory.

  This demo can also serve as a tutorial for document design. It is most effective if read side-by-side with a printed copy of the source. Click here for the source, and save or print.

  For a glimpse at an experimental style using frames, click here. The source for this version is identical to that of the previous demo, but requires some as-yet unreleased HtX hacking.
