CSCI AI SPRING 2004 APPLICATION

The computer science department offers Associate Instructorships (AIship) and Undergraduate Instructorships (UIship) to qualified graduate and undergraduate students (respectively) of Indiana University in computer science and other departments.

Application Instructions

  1. FIRST: READ ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO APPLYING FOR SPRING POSITIONS.
  2. There are currently SEVENTY-FOUR (74) AI and SEVENTEEN (17) UI funded positions available for spring.
  3. The current courses that have AI positions available are: A110, A111/A112, A115/A116, A201/A597, A202/A598, A247/A547, A348/A548, C211/A591, C212/A592, C241, C311/A596, C335/A593, C343/A594, B401, P415/P515, P423/P523, B443/B543, P466/P566, B481, B503, P573, and B649.
  4. A111/A112, and A306/A506 also have instructor positions available. If you are interested in the instructor position, fill out the application and email AIUIassignment@cs.indiana.edu to inform me of your desire to be the instructor of the course. Please include the course number that you want to be the instructor for.
  5. The current courses that have UI positions available are: A110, A111/A112, A115/A116, A201/A597, A202/A598, C211/A591, C212/A592, C311/A596, C335/A593, and B401.
  6. Applications for Spring 2003 will be considered late after November 12, 2003. Late applicants are more likely to be placed on the waiting list or not receive a preferred assignment. Applications are accepted until the end of the first week of the term applied for.
  7. Most successful applicants for Spring 2003 will receive notification of their appointment by December 15, 2003, but offers will continue to be made until the end of the first week of class. Course assignments as always are subject to change.
  8. If you obtain other employment or otherwise will be unable to accept an offer, please email AIUIassignment@cs.indiana.edu to withdraw your application. Do not accept an offer unless you fully intend to assume any assigned duties. If for unforeseen circumstances you are forced to resign an accepted position, do so as promptly as possible.
  9. Specific course assignments cannot be guaranteed. Efforts are made to assign AIs and UIs to duties for which they are best qualified, based on faculty requests, their experience, and their stated preferences. However, applicants must be prepared to accept any duties to which they are assigned.
  10. You may change or verify your application at any time by reapplying. Your prior entries will appear and may be modified if you wish.
  11. You will need a valid IU network ID and a network password to apply.
  12. Some older browsers do not support the security mechanism used by this application system.
  13. If you have problems submitting the application, please email AIUIassignment@cs.indiana.edu and be specific about the nature of the difficulty.
