Bin Cao is a Postdoctoral fellow working with Dr. Beth Plale in the Center for Data and Search Informatics (DSI) at the School of Informatics of Indiana University Bloomington. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering in 2006 from the University of Louisville. She also holds a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Louisville and B.E. in Computer Engineering from the Southeast University (China). She is the organizer of the DSI Seminar Series.

Research Interests

Data provenance in scientific workflows with particular interests in provenance data representation, storage, query, and visualization.
Query languages, query processing and optimization, and data models.
Database design and performance tuning and optimization.

SDCI Data: New Toolkit for Provenance Collection, Publishing, and Experience Reuse, funded by NSF.
Knowledge Discovery through Provenance Collection, Representation, and Use in the Lilly Life Science Grid, funded by Ely Lilly Company.
