Academic Work
Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW)
Prior to coming to Indiana University, I served as an adjunct faculty for 3 semesters at IPFW, teaching 2 - 3 low level computer science classes per semester, most notably the required first year programming class in Java. Prior to that, I was a TA, AI, etc at IPFW as both a graduate student and an undergraduate student.
Ivy Tech
I taught an Linux class on how to setup and administrate servers at Ivy Tech.
Entrepreneurial Work
Dunn Consulting
I currently run a small technology company. We do a wide range of technology related work, from custom software development to simple computer and network maintanence. A few programming projects have included Tax Sales, Fire Inspections, Point of Sale Systems, Order Automation, and CNC programming. These have required a variety of programming languages, such as Visual Basic, Java, C/C++, and even assembly code. We additionally support a wide range of computers, from AIX Unix running on a P series RISC box, embedded systems, Windows PCs and Servers, Linux, and even OS/2. And, for the record, there are still critical systems that run on OS/2. I started Dunn Consulting my freshman year in college, shortly after the dissolution of my partnership computer consulting company, ACD Technology.
Wormhole Books
I started a small publishing company, as a partnership, not long before dissolving ACD Technology. We published about 17 short books, including work by Connie Willis, and two Dune tie-ins. Ultimately, it was unable to recover from a severe fire.
ACD Technology
I started ACD Technology with 2 partners, just about the time I finished my second year in High School, when I was 15. The three of us had all been classmates that year. One of the two partners quickly left, but myself and the remaining partner continued on for approximately two years, until I started my freshman year in college. At that point, we went our seperate ways and I started my current consulting company shortly after that.
