Delay connections handle sequential time
- The patterns in both experiments take place in time.
- We must represent the relationships between elements
that happen at different points in time.
- It is convenient, though maybe not necessary, to turn sequences,
or subsequences, into static patterns.
- A standard approach to handling sequential time is time-delay
connections.
A connection with delay d > 0
causes the unit at the receiving end to respond
to the activation that the unit at the sending end had
d time steps before.
