A major course development to modernize the 2nd year graduate AI curriculum to focus on mathematically rigorous approaches to optimization, estimation, and inference that are essential in advanced AI, machine learning, robotics, and computer vision. A series of lecture notes on optimization algorithms for computer scientists, applied scientists, and engineers is under development.
