Professional Biography
Josh Hursey is a fourth year Ph.D. bound graduate student at Indiana University. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Computer Science from Earlham College in the Spring of 2003. After receiving his degree, Josh spent a full year teaching introductory courses in Computer Science as an Associate Instructor at both Earlham College and Indiana University East (Purdue Campus). During this time he also worked with Safe Passage Communications, Inc. as a research consultant. Josh started graduate school at Indiana University in the Fall of 2004. He received his Masters degree in Computer Science from Indiana University in the Spring of 2006. Josh works on many different projects all focusing on bridging the gap between technology and interdisciplinary research. He is currently working in the Open Systems Lab on the Open MPI project under the direction of Dr. Andrew Lumsdaine. His primary research interests focus on parallel and distributed systems, scalable fault tolerance, and scientific computing.
