A recent Associated Press article printed in The Herald-Times described how the U.S. hoped to locate weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. In addition to monetary rewards being given by the Pentagon for information, the article stated that "U.S. soldiers also will provide food or other necessities to encourage Iraqi citizens to share what they may know."
Is it naive of me to expect us to provide food and other necessities simply because we wish to limit human suffering among the citizens of Iraq, without regard for the information such basic aid might help us extract?
