Email submission instructions

You may use email to send in all assignments for this course. Using emailed submissions will greatly increase the speed with which you can complete the course (see the FAQ). Exams must still be taken at an approved testing center (see lesson 4).

Send all email assignments to: istudy@indiana.edu

List your course and lesson number in the subject line like this:

      Subject: CSCI A106, Lesson 1

Type your full name followed by your student ID number on the first line of your message like this:

      John Smith, 999-99-9999

Skip two lines and then type any questions or comments you have about the lesson. Your course, lesson number, name, and student ID number must be included in the message or we will be unable to process your assignment. All files that are required for the lesson must be submitted as attachments to this message. Do not split your assignment over several mail messages. In cases where the assignment requires you to print a file, you may submit the file in its original format (ready for printing). If you are unsure how to attach a file to your message, please contact your instructor.

Submit only one lesson per email message. This is true even if you have received permission for multiple lesson submissions. If you send a lesson as soon as you complete it, your instructor can provide feedback before you have finished the next lesson.

Never send your lessons directly to your instructor. Always use the address indicated above. Failure to follow these directions may cause delays in processing your lessons.

Always keep a copy of your assignment. Make sure you have a copy of all files you are submitting on your hard drive or floppy disk. Computers can crash, and even email gets lost sometimes.

Be very careful when submitting lesson 3. Much of lesson 3 requests printouts of varying types. To be sure that your file is ready for printing, use the Print Preview option in your word processor. Don't forget, you should also include your journal with this lesson!
