Youngsang is a senior research associate at KISA (Korea Internet & Security Agency). He has obtained his PhD in Computer Science from Indiana University-Bloomington. He also holds a MS in Computer Science in CS from University of Wisconsin - Madison.

Network Security, Security for Mobile Computing, and Computer Networking are his major research interest areas. He worked in the Network Research Group with Professor Minaxi Gupta and Professor Steven Myers. His journey as a computer scientist has started from the interest in playing with Apple II computer and the research interests have been being oriented and shaped from his solid academic and industrial backgrounds in network security, computer networks, and databases.
