solid has rigid form and fixed volume
it requires much energy
to hold all the atoms in place
and holds it's own form
liquid has fluid form and fixed volume
it requires a medium amount of energy
to hold all the atoms in place
and conforms to the shape of its container
gas has fluid form and unbounded volume
little energy is spent
to hold all the atoms in place
and it also conforms to the shape of its container
i kinda think people work in a similar way...
when we're "solid"
we hold our own form
but it takes a lot of energy
to hold things in place
and not let the outside word world deform us.
when we're "liquid"
we keep to our own volume
but we let the outside word world
move us around a bit.
when we're "gaseous"
we float anywhichway
the outside word moves
and try fill to all of space and time
but find it hard
to hold to the earth.
i even think people convert
between the states of matter
all the time --
sublimation is oh so sublime,
the freezing up of liquid thought,
and even the expansion of mind.
keep it flowin', baby...
