Welcome to my homepage. I am a second-year graduate student (MS) in the Computer Science program at School of Informatics and Computing, Indiana University Bloomington. I completed Bachelors in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai in the year 2006.

Thereafter I worked for a period of 18 months as an Assistant Systems Engineer with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) at their office in Chennai, India. After gaining valuable industry experience I felt the need to explore deeper into my areas of interest so that I could serve the industry better.

During my first year in graduate school I worked as a Web Developer for Indiana University's campus newspaper idsnews.com. idsnews.com won the first prize in the category of 'Best Overall Website' from the Indiana Collegiate Press Association.

Presently, I am working as a Research Assistant for the NSF funded LEAD (Linked Environments for Atmospheric Discovery) project at Indiana University's Center for Data and Search Informatics.

Recent News:
In November 2009, my first co-authored publication was presented at CIKM '09 (The 18th ACM Conference on Information and Knowledge Management). The research paper was based on work we did in the development of an application for comparison of structural indices for XML. The application provides the Database Administrators (DBAs) with a framework for comparing various structural indexing techniques and thereby assists the DBA in configuring database applications.

I am also a part of a team of four who developed a pervasive health care application; Pervasive Beacon Strip. Indiana University has upheld this application and a provisional patent was filed for the same in September 2009. Click here to watch the Pervasive Beacon Strip in action!
