Wrong face choosen for some addresses

We are having problems with `faces' (version 1.5.6) using the wrong face
for some of the mail we receive.

For example, a message with the following From line:
From: roberts@Iris1.ucis.dal.ca (Greg Roberts)
gets the logo for the cs.kuleuven.ac.be domain instead of the logo for
the .ca domain.

In the machine.tab file we have a line:
iris=iris.cs.kuleuven.ac.be
for one of our workstations (so that `faces -H iris' uses the correct
faces of our local domain).

After deleting the `Iris1.' part of the From line, the correct logo is
choosen.

This behaviour seems to be wrong, because, in our opinion, there should
never be a match between
Iris1.ucis.dal.ca
and
iris
or iris.cs.kuleuven.ac.be.

Other examples of wrong matches are:
athena.mit.edu -> athena -> athena.cs.kuleuven.ac.be
iosg.enet.dec.com -> io -> io.cs.kuleuven.ac.be
vesta.unm.edu -> vesta -> vesta.cs.kuleuven.ac.be

Is this a bug, or did we do something wrong?
