University Place Conference Center and Hotel Facilities
University Place meeting rooms are located in a
two-story wing of the U-shaped facility, separate from the dining and lodging
areas. This separation is one of the criteria for an International Association
of Conference Centers facility.
Meeting Rooms
University Place's 28 meeting rooms range from
a 340-seat Auditorium to breakout rooms. All were specifically designed
to provide an optimum environment for meetings, featuring:
- Permanent and soundproof walls.
- Suitability to audio-visual equipment. The 13
largest rooms have their own projection booths and most have a permanent
projection screen. Sight lines are uninterrupted.
- Square rooms for maximum flexibility in seating
arrangements including those, like hollow-squares, that foster interaction.
- A mix of windowed and windowless rooms. Windows
have light control shades.
- Both tables and chairs selected for comfort --
chairs for day-long comfort and tables with ample, non-glare writing surfaces.
- Climate control and lighting suitable for paperwork
and audio-visual presentations.
- Public areas encourage between-meeting interaction.
- Room for conference registration and refreshment
stations outside meeting rooms.
- The Conference Services Desk, staffed full-time,
is near the main entrance, convenient to both conferees and meeting planner.
